Milo serves as the Executive Director of PADIC. PADIC represents small to mid-sized property and casualty insurer business and consumer interests in the western United States. PADIC works with consumers, policyholders, media, regulators and legislators to improve consumer understanding of insurance issues and policies, keep costs and prices at a reasonable level and improve the competitive business environment.

* Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility
(Press Release June 2007)

Milo serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Catastrophe Risk Insurance Facility. The mission of the facility it to cover short-term liquidity needs of Caribbean governments as a result of either a hurricane or an earthquake.

* World Forum of Catastrophe Programmes

The World Forum of Catastrophe Programmes is an informal coalition of most of the world’s catastrophe related insurance programs.  This group meets annually to discuss issues specific to programs of this nature. In 2007 Milo attended the annual meeting in Madrid, Spain. The next meeting will be held in June 2008 in Hvergerdi, Iceland.

* Governor’s Emergency Partnership Advisory Workgroup

Milo is also a member of the Governor’s Emergency Partnership Advisory Workgroup. The purpose of the partnership is to strengthen the state of California’s emergency management efforts utilizing public-private partnerships.  Its mission is to effectively mobilize state, federal, private sector and non-profit resources to mitigate against, prepare for, respond to and recover from disasters.

* Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool

In 2000, Milo visited Istanbul, Turkey on behalf of the Turkish Catastrophe Insurance Pool (TCIP), the attached photos are from the 1999 earthquakes in the Marmara region of Turkey.

* Non-Life Insurance Rating Organization of  Japan

In 2004, Milo was invited to visit Tokyo by the Non-Life Insurance Rating Organization of  Japan.  This organization administers the earthquake insurance program for residences in the country.  Most of the photos were taken at various earthquake research facilities.
